The Client
Julie Jeppson is the founder of Gritty Mamas — a brand built around a truth that a lot of wellness content quietly ignores: mothers are often the last people to prioritize their own physical and mental health. The demands of motherhood don't leave obvious space for it, and most fitness and wellness programs aren't designed with the specific pressures, time constraints, and emotional complexity of being a mother in mind.
Julie wanted to change that. Her vision was a program that combined a comprehensive Mental Performance Training curriculum with a membership community — a space where mothers could build physical fitness and mental resilience together, supported by people who understood exactly what they were navigating.
She came to COURSE to build it.
The Challenge
Julie's program had an ambition that went beyond a standard online course. She wasn't building a content library — she was building a community-based membership platform that had to deliver both structured learning and sustained human connection. Both needed to work for the same audience simultaneously.
The curriculum had to integrate psychological strategies with practical fitness and wellness tools in a way that felt genuinely holistic — not two separate programs stitched together, but a unified experience that addressed the mental and physical dimensions of maternal health as the interconnected challenges they actually are. It also had to be accessible and actionable for mothers whose time, energy, and attention were already stretched.
The membership platform needed more than good content — it needed the interactive infrastructure that built real community. Forums, discussion boards, and live Q&A sessions had to be designed to foster genuine connection and accountability, not just provide a space for content to live.
What We Built Together
COURSE partnered with Julie across needs assessment, curriculum design, membership site development, and content creation — building Gritty Mamas from vision through launch.
The engagement started with in-depth consultations to understand the Gritty Mamas audience — the specific challenges mothers faced, the outcomes they were looking for, and the kind of community experience that would keep them engaged over time. That foundation shaped every curriculum and platform decision that followed.
Curriculum design built the Mental Performance Training Program around the tools mothers needed most: mindfulness practices, stress management strategies, goal-setting frameworks, and confidence-building techniques — organized into a progressive structure that addressed physical fitness and mental resilience as complementary rather than competing priorities. Every module was designed to deliver actionable strategies participants could implement within the reality of their lives, not a theoretical ideal.
Membership site development gave the program its home. We designed a user-friendly platform to host the training content and built in the interactive elements that made community possible — forums, discussion boards, and live Q&A sessions that gave members a space to share, support, and connect beyond the curriculum. The platform was designed for engagement, not just access.
Content creation produced the learning experience itself. High-quality video lessons delivered actionable insights and real-world applications in a format that felt warm and relatable. Downloadable resources and interactive activities enriched each module and gave members tools to carry into their daily lives between sessions.
The Results
Gritty Mamas launched to meaningful enrollment and built an engaged, diverse community of mothers who found in the program both the structured guidance and the human connection they had been looking for.
Participant feedback was consistently strong — mothers describing real improvements in how they managed stress, maintained focus, and approached their own wellbeing alongside everything else they were carrying. The membership platform became what Julie envisioned: a hub where members shared experiences, resources, and encouragement with people who understood the specific texture of their lives.
Gritty Mamas established itself as a trusted resource for maternal health and mental resilience — a brand with the community infrastructure and curriculum depth to grow its offerings as its membership expanded.
What's Possible
Julie had a clear vision, a genuine understanding of her audience, and a program the wellness space genuinely needed. COURSE built the curriculum, membership platform, and content infrastructure that turned Gritty Mamas into a thriving community rather than just a course.
If you're building something that needs to do more than deliver content — a program that creates real community and sustained engagement — this is what that looks like when it's built properly.
