The Client
Erica Hand is a healthcare professional with an extensive nursing background and a deep commitment to holistic wellness — and a clear-eyed view of a gap that the medical profession rarely addresses. Thousands of qualified, experienced healthcare professionals have the knowledge and the drive to build their own businesses. What most of them lack is the roadmap for how to make that transition without losing everything they've worked for in their clinical careers.
Erica wanted to build that roadmap. Not as a general business course, but as a program specifically designed for medical experts — people who understood health science and patient care but had never been taught how to build and run a business around it. She came to COURSE to turn that vision into a course.
The Challenge
Building a course for healthcare professionals presented a specific set of challenges that a generic entrepreneurship curriculum wouldn't solve.
The audience was highly educated, clinically trained, and skeptical of advice that wasn't grounded in real-world medical context. The curriculum had to speak their language — translating entrepreneurial frameworks into terminology and scenarios that resonated with professionals who had spent their careers in healthcare settings rather than business ones. Generic startup advice wasn't going to move them.
The content also had to serve a diverse range of healthcare professionals — nurses, practitioners, allied health workers, and specialists — each with different starting points, different constraints, and different visions for what their business could look like. And the platform and marketing strategy had to reach that audience globally, connecting Erica with aspiring health entrepreneurs well beyond her existing network.
What We Built Together
COURSE partnered with Erica across strategic planning, curriculum development, content production, platform design, and marketing — building the Empowering Healthcare Entrepreneurs course from first consultation through launch.
Strategic planning started with detailed consultations to define Erica's goals, her target audience's specific needs, and the unique selling points that made her course different from anything else available to healthcare professionals considering entrepreneurship. That foundation shaped every decision that followed.
Curriculum development built the course around the real journey Erica's students were navigating — from the decision to transition out of or alongside clinical practice, through the holistic strategies and business growth tactics that built a sustainable health business. The step-by-step structure gave participants a clear path rather than a collection of disconnected modules, organized to meet them at the beginning of their entrepreneurial journey and carry them through it.
Content production created the learning experience. High-quality video lessons, interactive activities, and downloadable resources were developed to serve different learning styles and ensure participants had both the conceptual understanding and the practical tools to implement what they were learning. Every lesson was built around actionable insights rather than theory — content designed for people who were going to act on it, not just absorb it.
The course platform was designed for clarity and ease — intuitive navigation and interactive features that let participants focus entirely on the content without friction. SEO optimization was integrated into the marketing strategy, boosting discoverability among healthcare professionals actively searching for entrepreneurial guidance, and supported by targeted email campaigns and social media outreach that extended Erica's reach to a global audience.
The Results
Erica launched Empowering Healthcare Entrepreneurs to an audience of healthcare professionals from around the world — practitioners, nurses, and allied health workers who found the course through both Erica's existing network and the SEO-driven discovery strategy built around the launch.
Participant engagement was strong throughout — interactive elements and professionally produced content kept completion rates high and generated positive feedback from students who described the curriculum as the roadmap they had been looking for. The global reach of the launch expanded Erica's influence beyond her geographic footprint, connecting her with aspiring health entrepreneurs in markets she hadn't previously been able to serve.
The course established Erica as a recognized authority in healthcare entrepreneurship — a credible guide for the specific transition from clinical professional to business owner that very few educators were addressing with the depth and context her background allowed her to bring.
What's Possible
Erica had the nursing expertise, the holistic wellness background, and the clear vision for a course the healthcare profession genuinely needed. COURSE built the curriculum, content, platform, and marketing strategy that turned it into a globally accessible program reaching the professionals it was designed for.
If you're a healthcare professional ready to share what you know about building a business in your field — this is what a course built specifically for that audience looks like.
