The Client
Seabourn sets the standard for ultra-luxury travel. Every detail of the guest experience — from the quality of the food to the way a crew member greets someone at the gangway — reflects years of deliberate investment in people, training, and culture. Their reputation is built on a level of service that most hospitality brands aspire to and few actually achieve.
Behind that reputation is a global team of highly trained crew members spread across multiple ships, roles, and departments. As Seabourn's fleet and workforce continued to grow, their learning and development team recognized that the training approach needed to evolve alongside it. They weren't looking for generic training videos. They wanted a learning experience that felt like Seabourn — polished, thoughtful, and worthy of the standard they hold themselves to with every guest interaction.
They came to COURSE to build it.
The Challenge
Delivering consistent, high-quality training to a global crew is a logistical challenge that most organizations underestimate until they're already inside it.
Seabourn's team was navigating three distinct problems simultaneously. The first was consistency — ensuring crew members across multiple ships, locations, and time zones received the same quality of training regardless of where they were in the world. The second was engagement — existing training content wasn't keeping people's attention, which meant lower knowledge retention and performance gaps that showed up in the guest experience. The third was scale — the training system needed to grow with the organization without requiring a rebuild every time the fleet expanded or a new department needed onboarding.
The content also had to meet Seabourn's brand standard. A training video that felt cheap or generic would undermine the very culture it was trying to reinforce.
What We Built Together
COURSE partnered with Seabourn's learning and development team across pre-production, production, and delivery — building a training video series that matched the level of excellence Seabourn delivers to its guests.
Pre-production started with the scripts. We worked side by side with Seabourn's internal stakeholders to develop clear, concise scripts that reflected their values, service standards, and real-world crew expectations. Nothing was generic — every piece of content was tailored to how their people actually work on board, grounded in the specific situations and decisions crew members face in their roles.
Production brought those scripts to life with professional video that felt credible and authentic. Real-life scenarios, onboard demonstrations, and presenters who reflected the Seabourn standard gave the training content the kind of authority that gets people to pay attention and retain what they've learned. Motion graphics, animations, and on-screen text were layered in to make complex topics visually accessible without overwhelming the viewer — keeping each video engaging from start to finish.
Delivery was built for flexibility. The final videos were formatted for multiple platforms, ensuring crew members could access training whether they were on board, in transit, or completing onboarding remotely before joining the fleet.
The Results
The impact was measurable from the start.
Crew members received clearer, more consistent training — leading to stronger performance and more reliable service delivery across the fleet. Engagement improved significantly compared to the training methods that preceded it, and knowledge retention followed. The content held attention because it was built to — not just informative, but genuinely watchable.
Seabourn gained a scalable training infrastructure that could support their global workforce as the organization continued to grow, without starting from scratch each time. The videos delivered consistent quality to every crew member who watched them, regardless of ship, role, or location.
Most importantly, the training now matched the standard Seabourn is known for — a learning experience that reinforces the culture rather than working against it.
What's Possible
Seabourn needed training content that could hold up to the brand they had spent decades building. COURSE produced a professional video series that delivered consistent, engaging, scalable training across a global luxury fleet.
If your organization's training content doesn't yet reflect the standard you hold for everything else you do — this is what closing that gap looks like.
