The Innovative Instruction Workshop on Coaching was built to sharpen that capability at scale: a training program designed to equip over 100,000 Marines with the advanced coaching techniques, communication skills, and mentorship frameworks that made effective leaders rather than just effective soldiers. COURSE designed and produced it in partnership with Marine Corps leadership.

The engagement began with a comprehensive needs assessment — working directly with Marine Corps leadership to identify the specific coaching and leadership challenges their personnel were navigating, define the learning objectives the workshop needed to achieve, and develop a curriculum tailored to the unique operational context of the Marine Corps. That context mattered: coaching and mentorship training for a civilian organization and for a military institution required fundamentally different framing, different examples, and a different understanding of how authority, accountability, and interpersonal development operated within the structure Marines worked inside.

The curriculum produced from that process was engaging, actionable, and practical — built around real coaching scenarios, communication frameworks, and mentorship techniques that Marines could apply immediately in their roles rather than theoretical principles they would have to translate on their own. Video content was produced alongside the curriculum to give the training its visual depth — filming training exercises, expert interviews, and real-world coaching scenarios that provided participants with concrete demonstrations of the techniques being taught in action.

Post-production editing refined the raw footage into professional-quality instructional videos with graphics, animations, and visual effects that reinforced key learning points and maintained engagement across the full training experience. The visual production quality matched the standard the Marine Corps required for content going to 100,000+ personnel — precision, clarity, and a level of finish that reflected the seriousness of the training it was delivering.

Marines who went through the workshop reported measurably improved confidence in their coaching and mentorship capabilities, better communication tools for team leadership, and greater overall leadership readiness — outcomes that contributed to the effectiveness of the Marine Corps as a whole.
