Five years ago, I was at a turning point in my professional life. I had been working closely with some of the best minds in the knowledge and creator economy — icons and brands like Teachable, Run Like Clockwork, Danielle Leslie, Mike Michalowicz, Teri Ijeoma, and more!
Danielle Leslie, a genius at creating culturally relevant content; and Teri Ijeoma, whose expertise in investment strategies led her to become the top course creator on Teachable, with over $25 million in sales. These collaborations were not only inspiring but immensely educational.
However, as I continued to consult with various new and established business owners eager to tap into the lucrative world of online courses, I noticed a recurring obstacle that was hindering many talented individuals: a deep-seated fear of starting. This paralysis wasn’t due to lack of knowledge or resources but was often caused by self-doubt and procrastination. The journey of these potential course creators was stymied by their quest for perfection and fear of the unknown.
They expressed their frustrations and fears about launching their courses, citing everything from not having a perfect course idea to fearing technical challenges.
Driven by a determination to eliminate these barriers, I designed the Course In A Day® Workshop.
The concept was straightforward—equip potential course creators with the tools to conceptualize, create, and launch their first course within a single day. This workshop would focus on actionable steps, bypassing over-planning and aiming directly at execution.
The first workshop was a pilot test, and it exceeded all expectations. Participants were not only able to outline their courses but also created basic sales pages and conducted real-time validations by making their first sales. This immediate feedback loop was incredibly empowering. Seeing their ideas come to life so quickly transformed their mindset from doubt to action.
From that point on, Course In A Day® became the go-to starting point for new course creators, helping hundreds bypass procrastination and self-sabotage.
By channeling the spirit and teachings of industry leaders like Teachable, Danielle, and Teri, the workshop has become a launching pad for many successful online courses. It's a testament to the power of starting somewhere—anywhere—and learning as you go.
This philosophy has not only changed the lives of our participants but also continuously inspires my own approach to education and entrepreneurship.
